Farm Friday Photos

Close up with Jack

The Light Brahma Rooster crowing

A part from the original waterwheel. We think the old waterwheel was here around 1870.

A fall evening at the pond

The guineas and the little barn banties.

Jill investigates the tree stump that FarmMan had to cut. The old oak tree was huge and dead. It right beside the fence. We hope to use part of it to saw for lumber on the sawmill and the other part for fire wood.

This is rocks from one of several old homestead sites on the farm.

Jill and Miracle Eve

The guineas kept getting under the wax myrtle bush beside the house one afternoon. Come to find out there was a big ole hawk stalking the guineas and the chickens at the barn.

Have a great weekend!

Farm Scenes and Sounds Video

Scenes around the farm this week

FarmMan raising the barn loft door

Yes, Miracle Eve still loves that bottle!

Guineas and chickens fussing over the feed

Light Brahma hen in the nest box as the rooster looks on

The barnyard at supper time

The ducks and geese trying to eat the catfish food before the fish eat it

Chickens laying eggs, Jack hee hawing, Jill barking at Jack, Miracle Eve begging for a bottle(and getting it) FarmMan using a come-along to raise the barn loft door, the quietness of the ducks and geese eating the fish food at the pond, this is just a small part of our life this week.

Handmade Christmas Gifts

This year we are giving more handmade Christmas gifts.
Here is one that I am working on now.

I found this pattern for 25 cents at the thrift store recently.

The pattern is from the 1980's and had never been used. I thought it was cute. It has either a rabbit or cat you can make. I chose the rabbit to try first.

It was fairly easy to make. After sewing her head on backwards and one leg turned to the side, I got the hang of it.

Her eyes are buttons and her mouth and nose are embroidered on.

I am using material and stuffing I already had on hand. I also plan on making a couple of extra outfits to go with the bunny.
I started with a nice warm pink flannel gown complete with lace around the neck and sleeves.

I just happen to know a cute and special 7 year old girl who might just love to get this bunny in her soft flannel gown for a Christmas gift.

Are you making Christmas gifts this year?

Have a great day!
