Getting water to the Water Wheel

Good Evening,
After getting the wheel to spinning, Billy built the chute to carry the water to the wheel.

First he put the posts in and made sure he had enough drop for the water to flow down hill.

Then he made the chute.

Almost to the end.

Here the pipe will fit in.

The water will come from the old original mill pond that we are in the process of putting back.

Here is the original raceway/earth chute from the original waterwheel site

Now we are to the point of having water to the wheel!
Stay tune to see the water wheel turning for the first time from water power!
Have a good evening.

That's really something! I believe you could charge admission to your farm and draw a crowd.

It's absolutely terrific to see older and more gentle technology being revived and used again. I'm so happy to say that this is also happening where I live. The photos you took are outstanding and they chart the course of the project so well.

I was previously unable to post a comment to a post you made way back whem your grandkids were visiting and you made them biddies. I make them two and we call them chickies. Did you know that if you slide you needle through two pieces of oval shaped felt before you tie them that they can also become little bunnies? Now you can file this away as the most useless tip you ever received. LOL :P

Best wishes, TT

I am seriously impressed. You people work so hard. It makes me exhausted just reading your blog but I can't help myself.

Amazing. That man has been busy. He is one talented man. I would be so proud if I had a water wheel.

Wow! How neat! I wish I had one. He has done a great job-it really looks great-I know it must be complicated.

The work you are doing on the water wheel is so interesting and it's like being there with you while you are building it. It is truly an amazing piece of work.
