It is still hot and dry here in middle Georgia. Just the right weather for hay baling.
FarmMan was busy all weekend cutting, raking, and baling hay.
A bale is made
FarmMan and BoDog are tired at the end of the day.
But proud of the 35 big bales so far.
Have a great day!

I remember playing with a baler when I was a child. A toy one, that is, lol.
Oh my! I'm so jealous. No hay being baled around here since the first cutting. Droughts suck!
I love seeing all these "farm workin" pics!
Man, that dog is HUGE! Looks as big as mine (before he got shaved)
Hay Pam!
You write a post about a roll in the hay and then don't post for a day. I was wondering what was going on out at the farm.....hehehe !! :)
Seriously, I loooooved seeing those pictures of the hay bales. Real live hay! The only hay I get is when I mow the yard, but it would only make one bale for a miniature farm! Hope ya'll get some rain up there soon, although you can't beat that crystal blue Georgia sky!
Lots of haying hugs, Bebe :)
Congratulations ~ 35 big round bales would be a real security blanket for me :) I feed these to my cattle and buy them from a local farmer. Only one cutting for baling, the second crop they chop for their own cattle. Glad your weather is cooperating.
I really enjoy reading your blog!

No wonder you had hay on your mind! How many cutting a year do you get? Here in Minnesota some people got three cuttings..they are very happy!:)
I love seeing golden bales of hay dotting the fields around here. My mom and brother were in Mass. one year visiting and she saw the round bales off in teh distance and said to my borther, "You know, those are strange looking cows." When they got closer and she realized what they really were, she just sighed and said she needed new glasses. My brother was not convinced.
BoDog probably had a great day while the baler was going round and round.
I love the vista--one of my favorites---bales in the field as far as the eye can see! Must feel great to have some in store for winter.....HUGS**Linda
Been seeing the same sights around here. In fact I took a picture of the farm at the end of my road with it's pasture full of rolls of hay! Love seeing it!!
Wow! Farm Man really knows how to use that huge baler, doesn't he?
I have so many questions! :)
What kind of hay do you grow? And does it feed all your animals?
Will those 35 bales last all winter? Do you have to store them someplace special so they stay dry?
How many acres do you have just for hayfields?
I'm sure you realize how blessed you all are, right? Right now square haybales (alfalfa or alfalfa/grass) is running $8.00-$12.00 here in our area of New Mexico.
I wish we had some fields just to grow our hay. Whew!
Poor Farm Man. I hope he gets some time to join you for a skinny dip in the pond to relax and take a break :)

Hey Solomon. Then you know all about balers..lol Thanks
Don't be jealous, Pamela. This was our only cutting due to the drought. We normally have 3. We were glad to get this one though.
Thanks
Thanks adventure girl wanna be. We thought of cutting BoDogs hair also. I think we should have.
Hey Bebe. Naughty girl..lol..
Yes, blue skies are great. Thanks
Thanks Deb. So glady you visited.
Hey Far side of fifty. Yes, we sometimes get 3 cutting also, when the weather cooperates. Thanks
Hi Madrekarin.. I know exactly how your Mother feels. My eyes see things different than a few years ago, also. Thanks
Hey Reynie, yes BoDog wore himself out running around. Thanks
It does, Linda. It is nice to see the hay all lined up waiting for cold weather. Thanks
Hey Tracey. It is that time of year. Hay all along this way too.
Thanks
Hi Laughing Orca Ranch
This year we have some coastal bermuda, some millet, some just whatever came up in this drought.
It will last all winter because we don't have that many animals right now.
I would guess he cut hay on about 10 acres. and I do feel blessed everyday I look out my window or just walk outside, drought or no drought.
and...farm man hardly ever relaxes. Type A personality..lol. no really, he loves to set at the pond or at the waterwheel to relax.
thanks Lisa.
Hey Peggy. thanks. you have a good day also.
Thank-you everyone. I appreciate all your comments and visits. Have a great day.
Pam
