I love the farm sounds. I was sooo glad when our roo started to crow...I missed it! But then, he also does it in the middle of the night...the lil' bugger!
Aww, I love Jack. He is so clever...and his plump body shows it. That fella is a long way off from starving. Fat and happy!
The video is so cute, but reminded me of why I can't have a lovely donkey here. My neighbors have warned me against bringing a donkey home because of that metal against metal braying sound they make. I love that sound, and don't think it's awful at all. My neighbors horses make more noise than that when they are left behind when she takes one riding. *pout*
Maybe one day, when we are able to sell this house and buy some land up in the northern part of the state, I will finally be able to have a couple sweet donkeys to spoil. :)
Hi! I came across your blog while looking for info on bantam chickens. I've been trying to find out what type of banties I have. I have looked at all kinds of info and photos of bantam chickens, but none of the breeds look like the kind I have. Then, I came upon a Feb. 2008 post of yours. You have a photo of two banty hens and they look just like the ones I've recently "inherited." (They were my grandfather's. He passed away in April.) What type/breed of banty are those two hens? Thanks, Susan Prescott
I live on a 100 acre farm with my husband, a few cows, a few goats, a big dog, Lionel the cat, 6 guineas, a whole bunch of chickens, and a donkey name Jack. Of course there is Annie the goat(don't tell her) she thinks she is a person. We live a back to basics, debt free sort of life with hard work to keep us occupied. I would love to share some of down south living through photos, stories, and recipes. Hope you will join me on the farm.

He just wasn't full enough I guess.
Jack is such a cutie!

I think Jack has been hanging around Miracle Eve and she's been teaching him a thing or two about getting fed on demand! Smart guy!
Mr. Personality... and a con artist too! lol
Great Blog!!! thanks for letting me read it!!Arlene
Jack has a lot of charm, I wouldn't be able to resist it. I love all the farm-animal sounds.
I enjoyed the video of Jack, I then had to go to older posts to see Miracle Eve and her bottle. She is so sweet.

I love Jack. I wish he was mine! But I bet my mare would boss him around and make him miserable.
