The Farm's 1960 Ford dump truck video

This is our farm truck. It is a 1960 Ford F600 dump truck

and it works as hard as we do around here.

it has hauled it's share of hay over the years

It even has a working AM radio and an 8 track player!

It has hauled logs to the farm's sawmill.

The sawmill is older than the dump truck!

The Ford dump truck was a big help when we were putting the new roof on the house.

FarmMan bought the truck years ago for $750. It had belonged to the same farm family since it was new in 1960.

I think we got our money's worth out of it.

You don't need to have a brand new everything.
Sometimes the oldies are still goodies!

Video from last week when we used the truck for hauling the compost from the barn to the garden spot.

Have a great day!

Good Morning Pam, I would say you definitely got your money's worth. Does the truck have a nickname? Through the years, our cars have all had nicknames!!!
Hope you both have a wonderful Autumn day.

Like I said, love the truck! We have a 1978 ford that my son that is 15 just loves and my husband is going to fix it up for him and it will be his first truck!

Nice! I think my Hubby would like one of those two... just trying to figure out what I would have for him to haul around.

Do you have any 8 tracks to play in it? I was born in 1976, and I remember a van my parents' had that had an 8-track player in it. We listened to Ronnie Milsap and George Jones.

Oh I appreciate old and still working. I love "paid for." You're preaching to the choir here. :)

That's a great truck! I too want to know if it has a name :-).

They don't make truck like that anymore. Back then it was quality not quantity, now it is more quantity than quality.

Believe it or not, I dream of owning an old truck :) Maybe not a dump truck, but I'd love to have a good old 1960s-1970s pick up to tool around in. Love yours! It looks like a hard worker.

That was definitely a good investment! Bilbo is heading to Milan, Italy...but keep on trying because he will eventually get to hang out with Mircale Eve and Jack!

That's a great story - I think you should send a link to this post to the marketing people at Ford.

I love the truck!

We just sold a 1980 Ford Truck that had gotton us through pretty much everything. When nothing else could pull us out, that old truck did!

Nothing like old houses, barns, and old trucks!

Thank you for the visits and comments.
The truck doesn't have an official name but FarmMan has called it some @*#% names when it doesn't run when he needs it to, a few times.
Most of the time it works just fine though.

We do have some 8 track tapes but haven't played them in years. FarmMan's favorite is Waylon Jennings
Mine is The Who.
He is a little bit country and I'm all rock and roll.

Thanks again,
pam
